I realize that just because my parents aren't the happiest about my wedding, it doesn't negate the 18+ years it took them to raise me. They still love me and they still support you, just not on this.

My mom hated my husband and even skipped our wedding because of it. She came around after we had our son. Something about the first grandchild does that to a person I guess.

I did everything myself for my wedding. I also leaned in on supportive friends. I didn't even know if my dad would walk me down the aisle until it happened. I still can't believe he actually did.
